The Novacat 301 Alpha Motion Pro ED is a 3.04m front-mounted disc mower built on Pottinger’s Alpha Motion frame, which lets the mower bed float independently of the tractor for outstanding ground tracking. The result is a clean, even cut with no scalping, even on undulating ground. Seven discs, 14 blades, 3 ha/h, and just 60 hp required.

What sets the Alpha Motion range apart is the pivoting headstock. Rather than being rigidly fixed to the tractor, the whole mower unit moves with the contour of the field, so the discs hold a consistent cutting height, whatever the ground does beneath them. Less soil in the crop, cleaner silage, and noticeably less wear on your blades.
With a 3.04m working width, seven discs and a work rate of around 3 ha/h, the Novacat 301 is a productive front mower for grassland operations, and because it needs only 60 hp, it pairs comfortably with mid-size tractors rather than demanding your biggest machine. It folds to 2.98m for transport and weighs 905kg.
